Jessica Simpson’s tardy interview

Jessica Simpson was allegedly 11 hours late for a promotional interview. The actress was due to speak to Lara Spencer of America’s The Insider show at 10 a.m.
However, Jessica didn’t arrive until 9 p.m., leaving Laura - who had flown to Louisiana, where Jessica is currently filming a new movie to conduct the interview – waiting for 11 hours.
Jessica’s spokesperson blamed the wait on miscommunication, saying: “Jessica did the interview as soon as she was free from shooting.”
Last week, Jessica’s co-star Vivica A. Fox dismissed claims the busty blonde was a diva.
Vivica, who appears alongside Jessica in Major Movie Star, insisted rumours Jessica has behaved like a spoilt brat were just “vicious lies.”
She said: “Those vicious lies they put out were just that – lies. She was so much of a team player. She was gracious and so down to earth.”
Vivica insists Jessica – who plays a Hollywood star who joins the US Army in the movie – worked hard and made a lot of sacrifices.

Movie boost for Lohan

Lindsay Lohan’s acting career has been given a boost by movie tycoon Harvey Weinstein.
Weinstein, who has worked with the actress, believes Lindsay is “wonderful talent” and insists he would be happy to hire her after she leaves rehab.

When asked if her would hire Lindsay – who is currently staying at Utah’s Cirque Lodge detox centre – again, Weinstein replied: “Of course. She’s a wonderful actress. She did a great job in Bobby. Lindsay is a wonderful talent. I just hope that Lindsay is fine. She’s a good lady.”
The producer also believes that 21-year-old Lindsay will grow out of her problems. He added: “You know, we keep forgetting they’re kids. They’re making mistakes. Hopefully, they’ll clean it up.”
Last week, Lindsay admitted she is addicted to drugs and alcohol. The actress admitted she is “ashamed” of her recent behaviour and accepts she is out of control.

She said: “It is clear to me that my life has become completely unmanageable because I am addicted to alcohol and drugs. Recently, I relapsed and did things for which I am ashamed.”
The star made the statement shortly after reaching a plea deal for two counts of DUI (driving under the influence), two counts of being under the influence of a controlled substance and a reckless driving charge.

Spears being investigated for child abuse

Britney Spears is being investigated for possible child abuse, it has been reported.
The singer’s parenting skills have come into question following her recent erratic behaviour.
Social workers at the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services will be making enquiries into Britney’s suitability to care for sons Sean Preston and Jayden James.

The child abuse allegations were reportedly raised during an unscheduled court hearing on August 27.
Although Britney – who is currently fighting ex-husband Kevin Federline for sole custody of Sean, 23 months, and Jayden, 11 months – was not at the hearing, her lawyer Dennis Wasser reportedly attended along with Kevin’s lawyer Mark Kaplan.
Britney’s behaviour in front of her children has been criticised in recent weeks with sources claiming the boys are not living in a healthy and stable environment.

One said: “She drinks in front of the kids. At first, the drinks would help her loosen up and not be so angry. But she’d inevitably drink too much and be out of it, at which point the nannies would take care of the kids.”
The troubled star was also accused of trying to whiten Sean Preston’s teeth. A source claimed: “Britney doesn’t even know how to brush Sean’s teeth, and they look awful. She tried to whiten them using Crest Whitestrips, but he kept crying. Finally she threw the strips away, telling Sean, ‘Fine, you’ll just have ugly teeth then!’”
Former workers also alleged Britney “smoked like a chimney” around the boys and even asked Sean to fetch her cigarettes for her.

Kevin – who has two other children from a previous relationship – filed for primary custody of the boys after claiming Britney wasn’t suitable to be the sole carer.
