Ministers bask in luxury while masses burn

A large number of ministers appear to be celebrating the season in grand style, with many of them currently vacationing overseas.
The Nation learns that most of the ministers who are abroad are on private visits. The majority of the ministers, it is learned, have travelled to either European destinations or more fancy holiday and shopping destinations, while another group is reported to have left the country on ‘work.’

Attempts made by The Nation to contact several senior ministers including Jeyaraj Fernandopulle, Rohitha Bogollagama, Karu Jayasuriya, Keheliya Rambukwella, Maithripala Sirisena, Nimal Siripala de Silva, Milinda Moragoda, Mahinda Wijesekara and Rajitha Senaratne failed as they were all out of the country.

Some ministers had gone on at least two-week long voyages, while others are out on four to five day tours.
Several of the ministers have been accompanied by their families.
