The suspect, arrested near the Irattaperiyakulam road block in Vavuniya, has been identified as Thiagaraja Prabhakaran of Batticaloa.

According to informed sources, the UN Security Division, which had visited his room, had also found an explosive device which had later been brought to the notice of Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa by the UN office in Colombo. It was also found that he had access to the Radio Department and the Satellite Communication Section of the UN office in Kilinochchi.
