Ragging in Peradeniya continues unabated

By Mallika Etulgama
Ragging at the Peradeniya University goes unabated, especially at the Engineering Faculty, resulting in four senior undergraduates being remanded by Kandy Chief Magistrate Sumudhu Premachandra and later released on surety bail of Rs. 100,000.

Inspector Ranasinghe of Peradeniya Police produced the suspect undergraduates on an earlier date on a B Report and moved for an identification parade.

The undergraduates were produced before the Magistrate, under the Ragging Prevention Act. The suspects were released after an identification parade held this week.
