professionals and the massive manufacturing industry
that is proud of its morality.
Geared up with insight, manufacturing power and
imaginative talent, Sri Lanka aims for global
recognition and opportunities to further establish
its creative industry through the biggest
celebration of local art and design that the country
has ever experienced; Sri Lanka Design Festival 2009
will take place from November 27 to the December 5,
2009 and guarantees to be an experience of
innovation and artistry, spotlighting on the
indigenous arts and crafts and the manufacturing
industry of Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka Design Festival 2009 (SLDF) was
conceptualised and organised by the Academy of
Design, with the support of the Government of Sri
Lanka, Export Development Board, Sri Lanka Apparel
and Brandix Sri Lanka. Key opinion leaders,
designers and retailers from the world of
international design will take part in SLDF and the
Fashion Shows will also feature international
designers who are designing special collections
based on Sri Lankan textiles and crafts. Sri Lanka
Design Festival will feature a wide range of design
sectors such as Crafts, Fashion Design, Graphic
Design, Interior design and Jewellery Design through
a series of delightful and educational fashion
shows, symposiums, design exhibitions and workshops.
