Tourist hotel management training for North

With the idea of providing jobs for the youth of the areas and gaining much needed foreign exchange, Jaffna and Vavuniya have been selected as venues to set up branches of Sri Lanka Tourist Hotel Management Institute, said its Director General Suranga Silva.
With the ending of the three-decade war, an increase in the arrival of foreign tourists is experienced in the North and East. This has opened up doors of opportunities for the unemployed youth in the areas to join the tourist trade.
The setting up of two Tourist Hotel Management Institutes in the districts has been planned with the expectation of giving them the necessary training to get an entry into the tourist industry, the Director General added. (DP)
