Man released on bail for assaulting a doctor
A man, who brought a 10-year-old boy suffering from epilepsy for admission to Ragama General Hospital recently, had allegedly assaulted the admitting doctor and a male nurse after creating a scene at the hospital’s OPD.

The man who described himself as an uncle of the boy lost his temper when the doctor directed a male nurse to have the boy admitted to ward 10 in the old wing of the hospital, a hospital source said.
“The man who appeared to be in a rage first started abusing the hospital staff. He next set upon the male nurse who was filling up the admission card. Later he stormed into the doctor’s room and assaulted him,” the hospital source alleged.

Later several Policemen who arrived in the hospital following a telephone call from the hospital Police post, arrested the man who had gone berserk.
The man who was produced before the Gampaha magistrate apologised for his behaviour.
He was released on personal bail.
