UNP to do justice to Range B?

The Deputy Leader of the United National Party (UNP) Karu Jayasuriya said that the party disciplinary committee will meet tomorrow to decide on the action against Puttalam district UNP member Shantha Abeysekara who is accused of brutally attacking fellow UNP MP Palitha Range Bandara.

Explaining the process Jayasuriya said, “We gave Shantha Abeysekara till May 31 to respond. I know that even by last Wednesday he hadn’t responded to the allegations against him. Whether he replies or not the disciplinary committee will meet on Monday to discuss how to take action.”

The deputy leader explained that he wants to see a speedy end to the whole incident.
“I was involved in appointing the committee which will be looking into this matter. I have advised them to expedite the process, and finalise things after a quick and comprehensive investigation”.
Jayasuriya explained that the committee comprises several UNP members and lawyers.
