Pushpa Wijesinghe’s ‘Sita Addara’ launched

Pushpa Wijesinghe, who has climbed the ladder very carefully, has achieved much within the short period she has spent in the field of music. She has managed this partly due to her dedication to music and her down to earth approach where she has tackled many obstacles on her way with ease. Her ever willingness to push herself further in the field of music and desire to learn the trade will stand in her stead in achieving her desires.

The release of the compact disc (CD) ‘Sita Addara’ by Pushpa Wijesinghe took place at the Lumbini Theater recently. The CD included her own creation a song dedicated to The President of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapaksa. Other popular song writers who have contributed to this CD are Rambukkana Siddhartha Thero, HM Jayawardena, Rohana Weerasinghe, Somasiri Medagama, Nihal Gamhewa, Darshana Wickramathunga, Mahinda Bandara, Shantha Jayalath Thisera, Saman Wijesinghe, Dhanapala Basnayake along with many others.

The visuals for the song ‘Sita Addara’ have also being completed. Visuals were done by Thrinethra Chaminda Meemanage which was composed by Jayalal Rohana, acting done by Nisansala Nadeeshani and choreographed by Nuwantha Rajapakshe.
The music for the occasion was provided by Rohana Dharmakeerthi while the band included Nalaka Anjana Kumara, Mahinda Bandara and other radio artistes. The announcer for the programme was Wasantha Rohana of Broadcasting Corporation fame. Dancing was handled by the troupe from the National Youth Council.

Pushpa Wijesinghe was born at Henegama, Weliveriya to parents who were musically minded. She has six siblings and out of the six, some of them had involvements with music. She is a product of Maha Bodhi Vidyalaya, Gampaha who later moved to a school in Weliveriya where she developed her abilities in the field of music. She won several awards for her singing where her biggest achievement came when she won a singing contest at the literary day at Madduma Bandara Vidyalaya.
She had her initial training in music at the National Youth Council, where she won many awards for her studies in music. From there she went on to perform at the Independent Television Network (ITN) in the programme ‘Hedakara Hendewa’ and in the programme ‘Aderaneeya Yawwanaya Nimithera’ in Rupavahini and in the Telecom sponsored ‘Gee Sendewa’.

Currently attached to Department of Agricultural Development, she is a member of the department’s Art’s Circle. She performs regularly there during their musicals and other gatherings. Her superiors in the Department, Minister SM Chandrasena and his Media Secretary Hettiarachchi, the Commissioner General, the development officer and her co-workers Indrajith Mirihana and Chandrasena Hettiarachchi (singer) and Shiran Ratnayake of Rupavahini Corporation, Rohana Dharmakeerthi of Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) Upali Indika, owner of Music Centre and all those who are backing her are all thanked by her. “Remembrances are due to the secretary of the Art’s Circle Sudharman Radaliyagoda and President Anura Jayasekera,” says Pushpa. Minister Dulles Alahapperuma, Minister of Youth Affairs too is in for a big thank you, says Pushpa.

She has studied under such stalwarts as Somasiri Medegedera, Saman Wijesinghe, Premadasa Mudunkotuwa and Nihal Gamhewa. She is presently studying at Bhathkanda under Nihal Gamhewa and the organ under teacher Prasad.

In this children’s drama, an angry little boy is adopted by a ranching couple. The mean little tyke takes an immediate dislike to his new parents, but his life changes for the better when he finds a wounded German Shepherd that was especially trained by the Marines. The troubled youth begins spending all his time nursing the hurt animal. One day he discovers a gun that the dog had brought with him when he ran away from his master’s house after his owner was murdered. The boy’s life is jeopardised when he accidentally stumbles across the killer.

Dabangg breaks Box Office records Rs 49 crore weekend collection!!!

Woah!! Rs 49 crore weekend collection!!! Cannot get bigger than this!
After a superb collection of approximately Rs 14 crore on its first day, Dabangg did approximately Rs 49 crore business in its first weekend, leaving ‘3 Idiots’ collection of Rs 38 crore far behind.
The movie has already become a super-duper hit among the audience of irrespective of their age.
Dabangg is doing a stupendous business in the overseas market too. The total overseas business in the first three days is around $2.4 million with United Kingdom – £332,673, North America – $628,317, UAE – $970,000. Simply awesome!


Taapsee Pannu clears the air about her ‘Trisha’ controversy

South Indian actress Taapsee Pannu is all set to make her debut in the Tamil film industry with the movie AADUKALAM which will feature her opposite to actor Dhanush. Earlier there was a choice of Trisha Krishnan to play the lead in this film.
But later on she was replaced by Taapsee Pannu who has finished her acting portions in the film. Reacting to some of the media gossips, Taapsee Pannu has clarified that Trisha Krishnan backed out on this project on her own and later on she was offered with the role. Taapsee also clarified that she did not play any kind of mind games in replacing Trisha with herself.

‘We Are Family’ is a Hindi film directed by Siddharth Malhotra and produced by Karan Johar. The film stars Kajol, Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal in lead roles. The movie is a remake of the 1998 film Stepmom.
Synopsis
Maya (Kajol) is the perfect mother. Her life revolves around her three children, Aleya (Aanchal Munjal), Ankush (Nominath Ginsburg) and Anjali (Diya Sonecha), who think nothing less than the world of her. Despite being divorced from her husband, Aman (Arjun Rampal) Maya has ensured that everything runs smoothly in her house, under her watch, and that they continue to remain a happy family unit. However, when Aman introduces his girlfriend, Shreya (Kareena Kapoor) a career oriented woman, who has a lot to learn about children, to the family, the situation immediately takes an unexpected turn. When an incident changes their lives drastically, bringing the two women under the same roof, they find themselves putting to test an unusual situation ; can two mothers make a home ?
