CEB targets a bright future

Power and Energy Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka was given the task of revamping the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) from its position of being a burden to the national economy to a profitable institution when he took office after the general election last April. In an earlier interview as soon as he took office, Ranawaka expressed his objectives to The Nation. Our paper met Minister Ranawaka once again to gain an idea on his achievements so far. INTERIM SOLUTION ACCEPTABLE TO ALL: Kabir Hashim

UNP Parliamentarian Kabir Hashim who came forward as the mediator in the party leadership dispute, while admitting failure to come up with a final solution in 10 days as set out earlier, says they have achieved an interim solution, whereby everyone is now thinking on one track till the reforms are adopted into the party constitution at the national convention in November
