Sanda Numba Nam touches the pulse

By Sarashi Samarasinghe
Generally, fathers are most adored by daughters and vice versa. But in the realistic world why do fathers have to separate from daughters whom they adore most?
Why do daughters have to keep looking for their fathers? Can daughter’s belonging to two separate families share the same father?
In his latest teledrama Sanda Numba Nam directed by Thisula Deepa Thambavita, he answers all these questions.

Victor is a businessman. Varsha and Shiroshi, half sisters of the same age were fathered by Victor. Shiroshi is brought up under luxurious care of her father while Varsha, who was born due to a past relationship of Victors’, does not know that he is her father.
Varsha’s mother Duleeka brings her up in the face of extreme difficulties.
Micheal, who was in love with Duleeka in the past, is the younger brother of Victor. He is still friendly with Duleeka. Malaka, Varsha’s best friend from childhood is working in Micheal’s garage.
Meanwhile, Shiroshi’s boyfriend Arosh is from a wealthy family and he is studying at the same institute as Varsha.

The story begins when Duleeka comes back to the area where she used to live with grown up Varsha. Duleeka left the vicinity to get rid of social stigma when she became pregnant because of Victor.
The arrival of Duleeka leads to the beginning of unbelievable happenings.
The story of this lovable and moving mega teledrama gathers momentum with Arosh who is charmed by Varsha’s beauty while the relationship between Shiroshi and Malaka develops. The conflict between Malaka and Arosh along with their parents’ past, as well as the tale of two half-sisters with their challenges and wishes, turns this into a mega love story.

Vidya and Big B to team up once again….

Vidya Balan and Amitabh Bachchan shared terrific screen chemistry in the film ‘Paa’ where they played the role of a mother and son. And while that film went on to give Auro his national award, the buzz is out that Vidya and Amitabh are teaming up again.
And yet again, they are not playing the romantic pair (which is surprising given that Amitabh has romanced younger lots like Tabu and Jiah Khan in Cheeni Kum and Nishabd respectively).
Well! Renowned Bengali director Rituparno Ghosh is all geared up to bring on celluloid the tale of Kabulliwallah penned by the Noble Award winner Rabindranath Tagore. Amitabh shall play the protagonist Kabulliwallah who woos the young girl Mini with his baadam pistas and akhroths. Vidya shall play the grow-up avatar of Mini.
Vidya Balan is pretty gung ho about this project as Kabulliwallah is one of her favourite stories. Vidya often wonders what may have happened to the character of Mini post her marriage. This is, surely, a touching, moving tale of an old man and an inquisitive girl and deserves a celluloid immortality by the likes of great actors like Amitabh.
Like their pair???

Hrithik-Aishwarya Chemistry troubles Abhishek

GUZAARISH is Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s third film together after DHOOM 2 and JODHAA AKBAR. The previous two flicks got superb response from the audience and GUZAARISH promos too have caught huge eyeballs ever since they have been released. The duo set the screen on fire and keeps it sizzling each time.
And what we have got to hear recently is that Abhishek Bachchan has noticed this chemistry too.
No wonder Abhi keeps dropping in on the sets all the time.

Oviya thrown out of Amara

The Kalavani girl, who stole many a hearts and looked promising, is out of gear. The pretty Oviya is fast becoming a spoiled brat. That is what her directors say.
Oviya has been shown the door by the director Jeevan of Amara. The reason? Call sheet muddle. She was fast growing after the success of Kalavani and signed around five films at one go. The first of the list was Amara directed by Jeevan who did Gnabagangal.
Now due to her messing up with the dates, Jeevan had declared a war and thrown her out of the film. Jeevan says he waited as much as he could for her to mend her ways but she seems to be not listening and hence the difficult decision.
According to reports last received Kadhalar Kudiyiruppu Shruti will be stepping into the role exited by Oviya.
