JVP blasts govt for ‘about-turn’

JVP international affairs spokesman Vijitha Herath berates the government for making an about-turn on the Ban Ki-moon’s advisory panel on Sri Lanka by extending it an invitation, but says they will never change their stand and will not tolerate any foreign body interfering in the internal affairs of this country.
On the matter of the party’s sudden low profile, he says they are quite active in rural areas, where they are busy organising at village level among the people who are suffering much due to the soaring cost of living, corruption and other issues. Full Interview

As some UNPers appear to be adding fuel to the fire caused by the government making an about-turn on receiving the controversial advisory panel appointed by UN secretary-general Ban Ki-moon, we asked United National Party general secretary Tissa Attanayake about certain ‘damaging’ statements made by some of their key men and other issues detrimental to the country.
