Delicacy lands them in hospital

Four men and a woman from Pengiriwatte, Akuressa, were rushed to hospital falling sick after having consumed some spoiled meat as a delicacy.
The men, all under 30 and the woman (52), who cooked the meat had thereafter consumed it.
They had purchased five kilos of the porcupine meat for Rs 250, without knowing the meat was old and rotting.
After consuming the meat all five became sick.
Three men were treated at the Akuressa hospital while the woman and the other man, who were in serious condition, were admitted to Karapitiya hospital. (NS)
