President Nasheed in Colombo

Maldivian President Mohammed Nasheed who was in Colombo on an official visit yesterday took the opportunity to watch the world cup cricket match that was played between Sri Lanka and Pakistan at the Kettarama stadium.
President Nasheed was accompanied by Sports Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage and UPFA Parliamentarian A.H.M.Azwer.
Deputy minister Geethanjana Gunewardena was also present, watching the match with the Maldivian President.

Prior to his visit to the stadium, the Maldivian President held bilateral discussions with President Mahinda Rajapaksa, according Presidentís media unit.
President Rajapaksa also hosted the visiting Maldivian Head of State to lunch at Temple Trees during which he had noted the remarkable improvements made to Colombo that he had noticed while being driven through the city.
Pakistan High Commissioner in Sri Lanka Ms. Sima Ilahi Ballooch and a few senators and Members of Parliament from Pakistan were also present to witness the match yesterday at Kettarama stadium.
