Twenty-three persons were injured when a mini bus on
its way to the airport collided with a tipper truck
around midnight at Mabola junction, Wattala on
Tuesday (26). Four of the victims in a serious
condition were taken to the ICU of the Colombo

According to Wattala police, most of the injured
were relatives, who had come to bid goodbye to
26-year-old Rizvan Mohamed of Kahawatta, on his way
to Kuwait for employment. Those admitted to the ICU
are Rizvanís mother Fatima Bibi 56, her sister Miran
Bibi 32, and her younger son Mohamed Seyyudu 22.
The driver of the bus, Chandrapala Wijesiri 32 had
