Why do the people have two ears? One to hear and the
other to discard the heard.
When we see the Earth from the sky, the Earth is
beautiful. When we see the sky from the Earth, the
sky is beautiful.
The abundance of words is not license to lie.

Running for life
There is a saying in Sinhala that goes ‘pana
beraganna duwanawa’ which would translate as
‘running for dear life’. You can see many who run
for their lives at places like Independence Square
and Viharamahadevi Park every evening.
Liberation for invasion
Western powers no longer invade countries; they just
liberate them. Looks like their politics match their
technology when it comes to sophistry.
Training and education
There may be trained dogs, but we are yet to hear of
‘Hama friendama vadagath machan mobile eke salli
thiyenkan’. Every friend is important until you run
out of credit on your mobile.
Most genuine problem
Problems mostly are genuine, but we cannot say the
same about the persons who speak about them. Maybe
the most genuine problem today is the lack of

sure whether or not this is a development.
What is right?
Some think that left is always right. Some think
that right is always right. Some think that the
middle path is always right. All these people are
innocent; do not fear them. Beware, however, of the
one who thinks that might is right.
Try to be creative even in speaking because speaking
is not telling some words and ideas but is a way of
constructing human relationships.
Animals in a zoo have longer lifetimes and less life
than wild animals.
No clothe can make a butterfly more beautiful.
