Police nab another team of drug racketeers

Another network which engage in importing and distributing drugs in Sri Lanka has been uncovered by Police yesterday. Acting Police Spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekara told the media that they arrested a suspect at Ragama yesterday with 14grams of heroin in his possession. The information received from him had driven the police for another to arrest with 200 grams of heroin.

The suspect identified as Mohamed Simnaz, has revealed mush details of the network which was running in Colombo, Negombo and Chilaw with directions of India. Simnaz has reveled about his father whom Police later arrested with the possession of almost five Kg of heroin. The third suspect has been identified as Mohamed Simzar and police also recovered Rs 5 million with them.

Another three who had connections have also been arrested and police said that will be questioned for seven days. However, Police confirmed that so far no connections to any politician or Wele Suda were not revealed.
