Former Minister Johnston arrested

Former Trade Minister Johnston Fernando was arrested by the Police Financial Crimes Investigation (FCID) division today; May 05. According to the Police Media Spokesperson ASP Ruwan Gunasekara, MP Fernando was arrested on the charge of irregularities related to the use of state assets.

The MP had been summoned to the FCID this morning to obtain a statement over the reported and alleged financial irregularities at the state run super market; Sathosa.
