Alleged HR Violations: domestic mechanism by next month

President Maithripala Sirisena said that a domestic mechanism to investigate allegations of human rights violations during the war will be put in place by next month.  

Responding to a question at a breakfast meeting with media heads at President's House, he said that as promised to the UNHRC and in accordance with advice from that organization, the Government has taken steps to set up such a mechanism shortly.  He added that at no point with the Government compromise the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of the nation.
