People’s Leasing & Finance PLC last week announced the appointment of Gamini Senarath as the Chairman (Non-Independent, Non-Executive Director) of the Board with effect from the 28th of February 2013. A well reputed officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service, Senarath is well poised to lead the country’s largest non-banking financial institution and the leader in leasing.
Commenting on his new appointment MSenarath said: ‘I am delighted at the challenge to lead this dynamic organisation as the Chairman of the Board. A graduate of the University of Kelaniya, Senarath joined the Sri Lanka Administrative Service in the year 1984 as an Assistant Government Agent. He has also served in the capacity of Assistant Controller and Deputy Controller of the Department of Immigration and Emigration, Senior Assistant Secretary to the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation and the Commissioner General of Motor Traffic.
