Prison officers to be trained in Australia

A group of Department of Prisons senior officers, led by Prison Commissioner, Lakshaman  Abeygunawardana left for Sydney, Australia on May 2 to attend an international training program at the Brush Farm Corrective Services Academy.

Last year, Abeygunawardana, representing the Department of Prisons, also visited the United States of America. He is an old boy of Nalanda College, Colombo and has worked as a human rights official at the United Nations.
