Three arrested over Raviraj killing

Three Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) personnel have been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) over their alleged role in the killing of former Tamil National Alliance (TNA) MP Nadarajah Raviraj in 2006, Police Media Unit said.

Two of the arrested are said to be former navy personnel while the third is said to be still serving in the navy. 

Raviraj, who was representing the Jaffna district, was shot by unknown assailants as he was leaving his house in Colombo for work on November 10, 2006. He later died in hospital.

One of the MPs police guards was also killed in the attack.
