Johnston further remanded with former Lak Sathosa Chief

Former UNP minister who later crossed over to the UPFA to support then President Mahinda Rajapaksa's hands Johnston Fernando further remanded until May 11 after being produced before Kurunegala Chief Magistrate this morning.

Former Minister along with former Lak Sathosa Chairman K.M.R. Fernando was further remanded by Kurunegala Chief Magistrate Ravindra Premaratne to continue the investigations. The both were arrested by the Financial Crimes Investigations Division on Monday; May 04 over charges that under the Public Property Act.

The allegation was as the minister in charge of the Cooperative Wholesale Establishment (CWE) he had ordered that goods worth more than Rs.5.2 million be released from three CWE warehouses in the Kurunegala District during the previous North-Eastern Provincial Council election.
