Parliament to be dissolved soon - JVP Leader

Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) revealed that the Parliament would be dissolved if parties failed to reach an agreement on the 20th Amendment. This was revealed by JVP Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake yesterday and he also added that President Maithripala Sirisena has already come to that stance.

The JVP leader was positive on the matter of passing the 20th Amendment in the parliament and said that most probably the House will be dissolved soon after the task. He, at the same time, said that the present government had no mandate to govern the country after the 100- day period lapse.

JVP Chief Dissanayake also added that according to the President, the next election would be held under the present Proportional Representation system even if the 20th Amendment was enacted.
