No-Confidence motion against Mahendran on Monday

The main Opposition in the Parliament; Sri Lanka Freedom party plans to present a no-confidence motion against Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran at the next meeting of the party leaders.

Opposition Leader Nimal Siripala de Silva revealed this and said that the motion will be taken up for discussion at the next party leaders' meeting, most probably on Monday; May 18.

He said that they wanted to see the removal of the Central Bank Governor over accusations of irregularities in the sale of Treasury bonds in February allegedly causing a massive loss to the state.
