Democratic National Alliance (DNA) Parliamentarian Arjuna Ranatunga, in an interview with our sister paper Rivira, stressed that he would only board the DNA platform if a proper common opposition was formed.
He added that such an opposition should comprise all parties and lamented that none of the five parties could now be seen on the DNA platform.
Speaking on his DNA colleague, former army chief Sarath Fonseka, Ranatunga said that he would not engross Fonseka addressing people in a wrong manner. “That is not my belief as my father taught me politics in a different style,” Ranatunga quipped.
Asked whether Sarath Fonseka was a man of ingratitude, Ranatunga said, “People may have understood by now his caliber”.
Ranatunga categorically stated he would not accept any cabinet portfolio though there were several requests to that effect from the government.
