The Pasikudah beach assault case against Daham Sirisena, the son of Health Minister, Maithripala Sirisena and twelve other suspects for allegedly assaulting Asela Vaidyalankara, the son of the Puttalam DIG, Ravi Vaidyalankara will be taken up for hearing tomorrow (Monday 4) before the Valachchanai Magistrate’s Court.

The suspects, who were enlarged on police bail following their arrest after the DIG’s son was assaulted on the Pasikudah beach last week, will appear in courts on assault charges, according to Police Media Spokesman Buddhika Siriwardena.

Asela Vaidyalankara has alleged that he was severely assaulted by Daham Sirisena when he asked him to refrain from taking pictures of his wife on the beach. Also, that the suspects had set upon his wife too when she rushed to his help.
The incident hogged the limelight with the Health Minister himself addressing the issue by summoning a press briefing and accusing the media of trying to tarnish his image.
