Chandimal out of World Cup

HOBART: Sri Lanka batsman Dinesh Chandimal was ruled out of the ongoing 2015 World Cup with a strained hamstring injury and has been replaced by Kusal Perera in the squad for the rest of the tournament.

Chandimal suffered the injury during Sri Lanka’s 64-run loss to Australia at Sydneyon Sunday where he was forced to retire hurt with his score on 52.

He is the fourth Sri Lanka player to return home with an injury.

Dhammika Prasad, Jeevan Mendis and Dimuth Karunaratne were the others to suffer injuries.

Kithuruwan Vithanage has been flown to Australia as cover up for another injured player Rangana Herath who is recovering from a finger injury sustained during the match against England.
