Old boys and well wishes of Trinity College are said to be unhappy over an incident that took place at last week’s first round Bradby Shield rugby match against Royal at Pallekele where the toppled ex-President Mahinda Rajapaksa was accorded a welcome fit for a Chief Guest.

Even the school’s head Brigadier Udaya Ariyaratne is in big trouble and told to answer for the side show.

Rajapaksa was welcomed by what is said to be a group of Trinity old boys serving in the army who presented their former Commander-in-Chief with a red jersey served on a platter while bowing down.

Old boys say the episode was unsanctioned, had no legal basis, was out of place and had no status at all.
