Authorities removed 45,000 potted tropical bushes used to decorate the outer perimeter wall of Temple Trees, the official residence of the Prime Minister. This ‘foliage wall’ was apparently constructed at a cost of Rs.3 million ahead of CHOGM 2013 and maintenance costs are said to have been forbidding.  The plants will be sent to the Gampaha Botanical Gardens.
