The latest organization to join the
exclusive and elite corporate seg-
ment of Microsoft Dynamics ERP
(Enterprise Resource Planning) is
the exporters of coir based substrates
worldwide, Tropicoir Lanka (Pvt) Ltd.
Tropicoir stands tall after being in the
industry for 17 years as the leader in
quality and innovation with over 200
dedicated employees who are fully
committed to the company’s vision.
They maintain a close relationship
with their clients in order to keep up
with the fast changing technologies
in the global horticulture market.
As the company grew each day, we
saw the increasing need to streamline
processes to improveproductivityand
reduce costs, stated the Managing Di-
rector of Tropicoir Lanka (PVT) Ltd
Dinesh Fernando. To improve opera-
tions in their organization, Tropicoir
group wanted to replace its existing
systemwhich until then used manual
processes.
Microsoft Dynamics is a fully in-
tegrated business system solution
which carries the capability of cut-
ting across areas of finance, manu-
facturing, trading, supply chain man-
agement, inventory management,
service management and many other
critical business modules. This is
when Jinasena Info Tech (PVT) Ltd
was chosen to do the implementation
of Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009.
“We were thoroughly comfortable
with Jinasena InfoTech as our ERP
partner during the selection process
as they have successfully completed
the Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP
implementation which is the most
advance version of Dynamics ERP
family within the Jinasena group
and many other organizations in Sri
Lanka. We were very keen on work-
ing with them due to the enthusiasm
shown and as they have done their
research and development activi-
ties at “ONAK” another subsidiary
company of Jinasena InfoTech that
is dedicated for ERP training and Re-
search and Development activities.
This energetic team of young local
talent worked very hard until the suc-
cess of the project. We didn’t have
any doubts selecting them for our
project as they have the genetics from
the well-established mother company
Jinasena’’ said Fernando.
Managing Director of Jinasena
InfoTech (Pvt) Ltd Senaka Attygalle
stated that to make an ERP imple-
mentation successful, it is very
important to do a comprehensive
process mapping with the required
Business Process Reengineering.
The BPR work done during the pro-
cess finalization stages will bring
greater benefits to the organization.
Attygalle said that he was proud
to announce the entire project was
successfully completed by our very
own local talent.
‘’Our dynamic team worked tire-
lessly day in and day out to get the
implementation going smoothly. We
identified Tropicoir Lanka as the
market leader in exporting environ-
ment friendly coir substrates rec-
ognized globally, their main buyer
being Europe and Australia. Our
prime vision was to venture in this
project while preserving the core
values of the 110 years old mother
company, Jinasena Engineering
group. As a strong and stable or-
ganization in Sri Lanka we have
diverse plans in our IT ventures
to provide total business solutions
with quality service and support
levels for our customers,” he pointed
out.
