Since re-reading
by Joanne Harris I have once again become obsessed with everything
that is chocolate after bit of a self declared hiatus. Obsession with one kind of food is a common
occurance everytime I read a book that has any mention of food. Perhaps I will try baking some
pumpkin pastries next time. Ok so I admit it, I am a fiction food nerd.
Anyway this is the best brownie recipe I have come across and have been only using it ever
since. It is absolutely fudgy and gooey. Who can ever say no to a good chocolate brownie?
(Recipe is based on the Best Cocoa Brownies recipe from
, by way of Epicurious)
10 table spoons of butter
1 1/4 cup of sugar
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
2 large eggs
1/2 cup of flour
1 teaspoon of baking powder
2/3 cup of chocolate chips
How to
1. Heat the oven to 160 Celsius, and line an 8-inch square baking
pan with tin foil.
2. Combine the butter, sugar, cocoa, and salt in a medium heat-
proof bowl, and set it into a skillet of simmering water. Mix the
ingredients well.
3. Stir in the vanilla extract.
4. When the mixture has cooled stir in the eggs, one at a time.
5. Once the batter is smooth, shiny, and creamy looking, add in the
flour and chocolate chips.
6. Bake for about 30 minutes or till a tooth pick comes out clean
7. Enjoy!
