1 dead after crash with pole in Port Orange, police say

Crash occurred at Dunlawton Avenue, Spruce Creek Road

PORT ORANGE, Fla. – The lone occupant of a vehicle that crashed into a pole in Port Orange early Saturday suffered fatal injuries in the wreck, according to police.

Officers responded at 1:15 a.m. to the intersection of Dunlawton Avenue and Spruce Creek Road, according to a news release.

The vehicle’s occupant — whose name was not released pending notification of the next of kin — has so far only been identified as “the female driver,” the release states.

No details of the circumstances leading up to the crash and no other information about the driver had been shared at the time of this report.
