17-year-old faces charges in Orlando shooting death of teen

ORLANDO, Fla. – A 17-year-old faces charges in the November shooting death of 16-year-old Randy Smith, Orlando police announced on Wednesday.

Police said they received calls regarding gunshots and a white SUV stuck on a parking block around 5:25 p.m. on Nov. 18.

According to a news release, Smith was located with a gunshot wound to the head and was taken to a local hospital where he later died.

Police said that they arrested Trayvon Randell Jackson, 17, on Wednesday in connection to Smith’s death.

According to the release, Jackson faces charges of second-degree murder and principal in first degree armed robbery with a firearm.
