Fatal crash happened on State Road 60 near Coronet Road
POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A woman was killed and two people were injured in a crash Monday evening near Mulberry, according to the Polk County’s Sheriff’s Office.
The fatal crash happened around 6 p.m. on State Road 60 near Coronet Road.
According to the sheriff’s office, a 2016 Kia Sedan was stopped in the southbound lanes of Coronet Road while a Ford F-150 pickup truck was heading west S.R. 60.
The driver of the Kia, 39-year-old Audrey Hills, of Mulberry, attempted a left turn onto eastbound S.R. 60 but crossed into the path of the oncoming pickup truck.
Hills was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead, deputies said.
Hills’ passenger and the driver off the F-150, a 29-year-old, were take to the hospital with minor injuries, according to sheriff’s officials.
An investigation is ongoing.
