Shooting happened at a home on Boxelder Street in Deltona

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – A 5-year-girl was injured after accidentally shooting herself in the leg on Saturday afternoon, according to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the shooting happened at a home on Boxelder Street in Deltona around 12:47 p.m.

The child was transported to a hospital, but deputies did not disclose her condition.

Detectives are investigating the circumstances of the shooting now, according to a news release.
