Amanda Holden issued stern words by husband after awkward work do incident

Amanda Holden's husband Chris Hughes has playfully issued some stern words to her, before Heart Radio's work event tonight.

During Thursday's show, the 53-year-old presenter reminisced about her first Christmas party with her colleagues, which ended with an unfortunate tumble down some stairs at a restaurant.

After her co-host JK humorously claimed he was dressed like the Milk Tray man, Amanda replied: "That's good, because you probably will be throwing two people over your shoulders to get us out of a restaurant later."

She humorously recounted: "I remember my first year at Heart we went for the Christmas party and we went for drinks and I fell down the last three steps of the restaurant, but landed on my knees.

"And, I just put the prayer sign up and said to the waiter, 'thank you so much for a lovely evening', and walked out like nothing had happened. That is how you style it [out], that's it!".

With the upcoming work do in mind, JK appeared slightly anxious by her antics, playfully asking: "And this is what I've got in store?".

Vowing to heed a request from her spouse, Amanda continued: "I promised my husband," only to add: "He said, 'don't get too battered Mandy'. I'll do my best."

Despite this promise, Amanda quipped that sticking to her husband's caution was unlikely, as she quipped: "It's the season to get battered!".

Moreover, she expressed her eagerness to kick off the festivities from the early afternoon rather than waiting until evening.

It's not the first time Amanda's other half has questioned her antics recently.

Back in October, she revealed that she had already snapped up a load of Christmas gifts and was eager to get her decorations up well ahead of time.

"Everything's going up in my house on November 15. I might go even earlier," she declared. "And I've finished my Christmas shopping. That's what I told my husband because there's so many packages in my house, he's like 'gosh Mandy, you've got to stop, you're haemorrhaging'."

She added: "And I went 'I've finished my Christmas shopping' and I looked him in the eye when I said it. [I'm] done, I've basically nearly finished it."
