Body found in Hillsborough Forest Park leads to police investigation

Police have launched an investigation after a body was found in Hillsborough Forest Park on Thursday evening.

The PSNI are trying to establish the circumstances surrounding the death after a body was found in the Co Down park on December 12.

It is understood that following the discovery there has been a large police presence in the area with a police cordon being put in place.

No details regarding the death have been established yet, including the gender of the person.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Police are examining the circumstances surrounding a body which was discovered in Hillsborough Forest Park on Thursday evening, 12 December.

"The circumstances of the individual’s death are as yet unknown and will be subject to investigation. Further information will be provided if and when appropriate."
