SANFORD, Fla. – The greater Midway area of Sanford is under a boil water notice after a water main break Tuesday afternoon.

The city of Sanford says a contractor broke a main, causing a water outage for some homes and businesses. The main has been repaired and water service has been restored, however the residents and businesses in this area will remain under a boil water notice for the next two days while water samples are analyzed.

People should boil all water for one minute for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing fruits and vegetables and dishes prior to use.

The boil water notice affects city of Sanford customers in the following area:

North from there to Celery Avenue and the Indian Mound Village, including Chickasaw Drive and Powhatan Drive

Across to Sipes Avenue and down to East 20th Street

From East 20th Street down to Brisson Avenue and back to State Road 46

A map of the affected area is also available on the Sanford website.
