16:57
EXTRA-TIME: Away we go for another 30 minutes
No changes as Pedro and Neymar get us going, can Brazil find a way past Croatia?
16:53
END OF 90 MINUTES: Croatia 0-0 Brazil
Extra-time to be played
Croatia 0-0 Brazil
90+4min: You can add a ninth save to that too. Livakovic getting easily behind a 25-yard effort from Antony who has looked dangerous since he replaced Raphinha.
16:50
I'm glad someone has been counting the amount of saves he has made
16:48
Croatia 0-0 Brazil
90min: I know it looks like from the scoreline that this has been a boring game but it really has been an enjoyable watch. Croatia have defended magnificently against a Brazil side who have been improving as this game has gone in. Into four added minutes we go.
Croatia 0-0 Brazil
87min: Even Brazil's defenders are trying to help out their attackers now, with Eder Militao just firing wide via a deflection on the edge of the box.
16:42
Brazil substitution
84min: Pedro comes on for Brazil now, replacing Richarlison who while not a goal threat has been quite a creative player for his side this evening.
You could argue Neymar should be the man coming off, but would a Brazil manager dare make that call? It would be a brave one...
Croatia 0-0 Brazil
81min: Brazil are edging closer to an opening goal. A back post cross is played into the path of Lucas Paqueta but despite hitting a powerful low crisp drive inside the box, it's straight at Livakovic who gathers first time.
16:36
Croatia 0-0 Brazil
78min: Another booking for Brazil as Marquinhos piles into Luka Modric like a steamtrain in a not so subtle attempt at stopping a counter attack from developing.
Croatia 0-0 Brazil
75min: And yet another chance for Brazil. Richarlison once more threads Neymar inside the box but as he runs out of angle on the left side - he is once again denied by the excellent Livakovic rushing off his line.
16:31
Double Croatia substitution
72min: Double change for Croatia seeking fresh legs as Pasalic and Kramaric depart as Nikola Vlasic and Bruno Petkovic come on.
16:26
Croatia 0-0 Brazil
68min: Bit harsh from Michael Oliver as Casemiro is booked for hauling down Andrej Kramaric on the halfway line.
Croatia 0-0 Brazil
67min: Another big chance for Brazil. The ball finds Lucas Paqueta inside the box but with the bouncing ball he can't steer a finish past the advancing Livakovic who makes a crucial point-blank range block.
16:22
Brazil substitution
64min: Such has been Josip Juranovic's success this evening, it's led to Brazil starman Vinicius Jr departing as he is replaced by Rodrygo.
Croatia 0-0 Brazil
62min: Ivan Perisic has been a busy man on the left this evening, but his final ball has been lacking as his low cross towards the near post is gobbled up by Alisson - who hasn't really had much to do all evening.
Croatia 0-0 Brazil
59min: The stalemate continues. Brazil have carved open some better opportunities in this half but it's not really shook Croatia who continue to stick with their gameplan.
16:15
Brazil substitution
56min: First change for Brazil and the rather anonymous Raphinha is replaced by Manchester United forward Antony.
Croatia 0-0 Brazil
55min: Chance for Brazil, but Neymar blows his big moment again. Richarlison slots a through ball into the box for the forward but his first touch is poor and his shot at full stretch is well blocked by the advancing Dominik Livakovic.
Croatia 0-0 Brazil
54min: Half-chance that for Croatia. Ivan Perisic collects the ball on the edge of the box, but his chipped ball into the penalty area is just too high for Mario Pasalic to attack.
16:08
Croatia 0-0 Brazil
49min: And in the aftermath there is a penalty check against Josip Juranovic for a handball and while it does strike his hand quite clearly strike his arm as the ball drops over his shoulder, it is completely accidental - and VAR agrees.
Croatia 0-0 Brazil
48min: What a start to this half! Brazil have their best chances as Neymar has a shot inside the box blocked shortly after another Brazil effort was somehow blocked.
16:04
SECOND HALF: No changes from either side as Richarlison kicks off
That means still no Fred for Brazil to bolster their midfield ranks as they go for take two in trying to break down Croatia.

BBC pundits rave over Josip Juranovic's first half performance
Alex Scott: 'He is not sitting back worrying about Brazil’s overloads down his side. He changes the point of the Croatia attack.
'He has the energy to get forward and allows his team to keep possession and get them up the field. He has been doing it for the whole 45 minutes, pass, move and drive into space. He has been quality the whole half.
Jurgen Klinsmann: 'Managers want to see players win their one on one battles. He is telling Vinicius Jr who is the boss here. You might be the best winger in the World Cup, but I am going to go here.'

15:54
There's been no waltzing through the Croatia defence so far
Croatia are not as generous as South Korea it seems.
While South Korea were picked off with four goals in half-an-hour, Croatia have yet to concede even a clear cut chance to make Brazil look rather ordinary.
That's not to say Brazil are playing badly, but they have certainly been frustrated and it's probably fair to say Croatia will have the happier dressing room following that stalemate 45 minutes.
15:46
HALF-TIME: CROATIA 0-0 BRAZIL
Brazil's Danilo (second right) heads the ball away during a goalless first-half
Croatia 0-0 Brazil
42min: Neymar takes the set-piece, going for goal too. His shot takes a deflection off the wall but Livakovic does well to readjust and claim the effort.
Brazil's Neymar challenges Croatia's Luka Modric during the World Cup quarter-final
Croatia 0-0 Brazil
40min: Here's a chance for Brazil as they win a free-kick on the corner of the box after Vinicius Jr is brought down by Brozovic.
Brazil, aware he is on a yellow card, want a second to be produced but the foul was light and not worthy of a second yellow.
Croatia 0-0 Brazil
37min: Vinicius Jr started this game quite well but as the half has gone he has started to slip into the pocket of Juranovic more and more who is defending Croatia's right flank.
The Celtic star has arguably been the best player of the game so far.
Croatia 0-0 Brazil
34min: One player this game does seem to be passing by is Lucas Paqueta, he's hardly had a worthwhile touch so far - at least going forward. Raphinha is also struggling out wide on the right.
15:31
Croatia 0-0 Brazil
31min: A bit better from Neymar here who turns excellently inside the Croatia half before he is tripped by Marcelo Brozovic who is booked for this trouble.
Croatia 0-0 Brazil
30min: Juranovic is having an excellent game, squaring the ball across the pitch for a countering Perisic who after cutting inside fires a good few yards over the bar.
Croatia 0-0 Brazil
28min: It's still not quite happening for Neymar this evening who loses the ball once more trying to redistribute play. Pass completion isn't everything when it comes to stats but it does help to get a few of them off and it's evaded the PSG star so far.
15:27
Croatia 0-0 Brazil
25min: First yellow card of the game and it's a no brainer really - Danilo is reckless with his high foot on Josip Juranovic to give Croatia a free-kick near the touchline outside the Brazil box.
It's one they clear though following a poor delivery from Modric.
Croatia 0-0 Brazil
24min: Brazil's best spell of the game so far as Croatia are forced to dig deep at the back. Casemiro has a long range strike deflected behind in their latest attack but the Croatian defence clear their lines from the set-piece.
Croatia 0-0 Brazil
21min: Back come Brazil, Vinicius Jr cuts in from the left, using his skill and a one-two with Richarlison to set up a low shot that is well blocked by Josko Gvardiol.
A few moments later Neymar pokes an effort straight to Livakovic.
Modric of Croatia controls the ball against Vinicius Junior of Brazil during the game
Croatia 0-0 Brazil
18min: It will be fascinating to see if Croatia can keep up this tempo throughout the whole 90 minutes.
They look so much more at it than Brazil so far as Andrej Kramaric sees an effort from the edge of the box blocked.
Croatia 0-0 Brazil
15min: It's not just Neymar looking a bit weak on the ball. Now Casemiro of all people is caught dozing by Modric as his former Real Madrid team-mate picks the ball off him. Modric delivers a ball the back post but it is well headed away by Eder Militao.
Croatia 0-0 Brazil
13min: Croatia should be in front! Mario Pasalic picks up the ball on the right before whipping in a low cross into the centre.
Perisic attacks it (below) but the Spurs wing-back can only fire wide across goal via a deflection.
Croatia 0-0 Brazil
12min: It's not quite the start Brazil had against South Korea.
They too are looking weak in attack - with Neymar having lost possession a few times already.
Croatia 0-0 Brazil
9min: Bit of a stalemate so far. Both teams are trying to take control of the midfield but it's been rather scrappy in that area so far.
It's easy to see Croatia's problem already though, they don't have much up top as Ivan Perisic's dangerous looking cross goes through a penalty box where there only seems to be yellow shirts.
Brazil's forward Richarlison heads the ball past Croatia's midfielder Luka Modric
Croatia 0-0 Brazil
6min: A sighter from Brazil but no more as Vinicius Jr's 25-yard effort across goal is just slightly too central and allows Dominik Livakovic to make a comfortable stop.
Croatia 0-0 Brazil
3min: Bit surprised to see Croatia go at this early doors given the two hours they put into the Japan game, as they take the game to Brazil.
Josip Juranovic of Croatia and Vinicius Junior of Brazil battles for possession
15:00

Jurgen Klinsmann claims Croatia are the 'Brazil of Europe'
'Croatia is a little bit the Brazil of Europe, they have a similar style,' Klinsmann told the BBC.
'They have Modric, who is one of the last No 10s out there. They are very creative and have an incredible spirit.
'It is very similar to Brazil. I followed Brazil closely over the last two years and they are extremely hungry. You can see this in everything they do.'
14:44
What do we make of Brazil's training kit by the way?
Even that has flair to it, wouldn't be surprised if it has been selling like hot cakes.
14:37
Luka Modric is proving age is no factor at this World Cup
This will be his 160th cap he will be winning tonight.
37y 91d - Luka Modrić is set to make his 30th appearance at a major tournament for Croatia. At 37 years of age, he will be the oldest midfielder to start in a #FIFAWorldCup quarter-final since Lothar Matthäus in 1998 (v Croatia). Engine. pic.twitter.com/QJG5cauZj1

We do have English interest at the heart of this battle
The Premier League's Michael Oliver is in charge of this game, having already taken two games at this tournament with little fuss - which is always a good sign.
He officiated Mexico's 2-1 win over Saudi Arabia which resulted in the Mexicans going out in the group stage while he was also the man in the middle for Costa Rica's victory over Japan.
14:28
Croatia are also going through their pre-match preparations
14:26
Neymar leading the way as Brazil stars begin warming up
The Paris Saint-Germain star will be up for this. As we have seen he has a good record against Croatia scoring three times in their last two meetings.
14:22
With Brazil legend Pele's health still of much of a concern to the football world, he is still on the minds of man fans of the five-time champions
And every true supporter of the game I might add - I think we can all agree on that.
14:15
Just to balance things up...
We've already seen Kent the Gibbon pick a Croatia win in Zagreb. Meanwhile in Rio, Ritinha the shark has backed the five-time champions.
14:07
OLIVER SALT: Former Brazil striker Fred is desperate for his country to meet Argentina in the World Cup semi-finals - and leave Lionel Messi in tears.
Both South American countries are gearing up for quarter-final ties on Friday, with Brazil set to take on Croatia at 3pm and Argentina locking horns with Holland at 7pm.
Should they emerge victorious, the two great rivals will battle it out for a place in the World Cup final next week.

Took a while but they started getting the right answer in the end!
13:58
Should this sort of thing be allowed?
Half-half strips - don't think I can ever defend them no matter what context they are used.
13:54
They have though been beaten onto the field by Croatia's stars
Not too sure if that means anything but let's hope Croatia can at least give Brazil a game this evening.
It's an ageing team led by Luka Modric who have only just got over a two-hour slog plus penalties to dump Japan out.
Not quite the luxury Brazil enjoyed in taking less than 45 minutes to sweep aside South Korea.
13:51
Here are Brazil arriving at the Education City Stadium
That's a confident looking Brazil team arriving at the ground - especially Neymar behind those shades...
13:46
Brazil stick with the XI that trampled over poor South Korea
Brazil were expected to perhaps bring Fred back into the side to add some stability to the midfield but have instead stuck with the same XI that raced into a 4-0 lead over South Korea in the first half.

Two changes for Croatia then
One of them expected as Borna Sosa returns from injury to replace Borna Barisic, while Bruno Petkovic is removed from the attack to be replaced by Mario Pasalic to bolster the midfield following the penalty shootout victory over Japan in the last-16.

It's this guy who deserves out applause though...
Guinness world record holder for most World Cups attended as a fan Daniel Sbruzzi (centre) arrives at Al Rayyan having attended all the finals dating back to the 1978 edition in Argentina.
13:36
As have their supporters...
And that includes Croatian model Ivana Knoll, who has become a bit of a regular among the Croatian fans attending their games at these finals.
13:32
Meanwhile, the Croatia bus has arrived at the Education City Stadium
13:31
Doesn't look like Brazil are going to stop dancing anytime soon...
They can't even stop on the bus heading to the game! That's quite a catchy beat to be fair though - how can you not get involved?!
13:27
Is this the last time we see Luka Modric in an international shirt?
At 37-years-old this is almost certainly his last World Cup and it will be an impressive feat if he can make the Euros at a near 39 years old - especially as a midfielder.
13:23
Croatia fans meanwhile are still in full flow in Doha ahead of the game
Croatia fans and one Brazil fan I might add... maybe he got lost?
And wait is that a Holland supporter in orange too?!
13:19
A subtle dig at Keane from the Brazil mascot?
Brazil's mascot has been excellent fun at this tournament. In the last match he was doing kick-ups (very impressively) as the team boarded the bus, now he is bringing the vibes with a boombox and a few dance moves as the team head to Al Rayyan.
He gets a greeting from Neymar and a friendly punch on the head (if such a thing exists) from manager Tite as they board the bus to get to the game.
13:12
Here's our final look on the history of Croatia vs Brazil
And in what is becoming a familiar pattern now - Brazil come out on top, as they lead a four-match series 3-0 having never been defeated by the European side.
Their last meeting came in a warm up for the 2018 World Cup where Roberto Firmino and Neymar found in the net in a 2-0 win at Anfield.
13:07
Brazil shirts are hanging in the changing room
Just in case Croatia needed reminding of the type of forward calibre they are facing today.
13:02
And is this our first sighting of Father Christmas at the World Cup
It's that time of year of course - the World Cup final is a week before Christmas Day, but Santa has bigger things on his mind in the shape of quarter-finals.

Croatia fans - be prepared for a long afternoon if you want to see your side win this World Cup quarter-final
Looking through their major tournament record, it's become apparent that they have not won a knock-out game since the 1998 World Cup. Some feat that considering they made the final four years ago!
Their route to their eventual defeat by France in Moscow saw them beat Denmark and Russia on penalties before seeing off England (sigh) in extra time.
The last time they won in 90 minutes would be their 3-0 quarter-final victory over Germany at France '98 (not counting third-place play-offs) - a match which ended the career of Jurgen Klinsmann through retirement.
A Klinsmann curse perhaps?
France '98 top scorer Croatia's Davor Suker celebrates scoring their third goal against Germany
The quarter-final victory brought down the curtain on Germany great Jurgen Klinsmann's career
12:30
This fixture has also opened a World Cup too...
Brazil put on an excellent World Cup in 2014 and the opening game set the tone for the tournament when they defeated Croatia 3-1.
Marcelo's own goal gave the European side a shock lead in the first half but spurred on by talisman Neymar the host nation equalised on the half-hour mark in Sao Paulo.
An entertaining clash could have gone either way before Neymar netted again following a highly controversial awarding of a penalty with 19 minutes to play.
Croatia pushed for an equaliser but in doing so took too many risks and conceded again through then Chelsea forward Oscar.
This was also the tournament we saw vanishing spray for the first time in Europe and for the first few months you couldn't make it through a match without a predictable 'waheeeeeey' every time it was used - dark times.
12:17
Casemiro and Modric conquered all at Real Madrid. They formed the bedrock of a side that won four of the past seven Champions League finals, resisting between them both national stereotypes and the clutches of Father Time.

By the way it's not just Croatia vs Brazil today...
We have two quarter-finals lined up, with Holland's clash with Argentina to follow this one...
12:07
Luka Modric did eventually make it onto the pitch at the 2006 World Cup
He came off the bench in both of Croatia's other group matches in draws with Japan and Australia before they tumbled out.
The midfielder though is one of the few stars left from the 2006 tournament still playing today but at 37-years-old this is likely to be his farewell to the World Cup.
12:01
One year after their first clash came their first competitive meeting
The two teams were pitted against each other in Group F of the World Cup in 2006 but it was Brazil who would come out on top in a 1-0 win in a Berlin group opener.
Like today, Brazil had a star-studded attack featuring the likes of Kaka, Ronaldo, Robinho, Adriano and Ronaldinho but unlike today they struggled to make it click.
They did though win this game 1-0 through a Kaka strike just before half-time against a Croatia team lacking star names - at least in their staring line-up. A 20-year-old Luka Modric was on the bench...

It's not just the Brazil players and fans Roy Keane has annoyed - he's also got under the skin of team manager Tite!

That's a wrap folks, this game has already been decided...
The spin-offs from 'Paul the Octopus' at the 2010 World Cup must be running into the hundreds now but now Gibbon Kent and his pack have had a go at picking this quarter-final.
They are backing Croatia, which is a surprise until you realise they are from Zagreb zoo. Lots of questions here, which I am sure Brazil's ambassador to Croatia Mauro Luiz Vieira (below left) will ask...
11:32
Time for a look back at this fixture's past...
It's a fairly light one - understandable given Croatia didn't even exist as an independent country until the early 1990s.
Still, a meeting between the teams did not happen until a 2005 friendly in Split where they played out a 1-1 draw, with Niko Kranjcar opening the scoring before Ricardinho equalised just before half-time.
Middlesbrough fans will do well to remember the Brazilian playmaker was once on their books.
Ronaldo of Brazil (right) fights for the ball with Stjepan Tomas of Croatia during the 2005 1-1 draw
11:20
So what's been the big story heading into this game? Of course, it's dancing and the storm that has emerged after Roy Keane in his position of chief officer of the Celebration Police attacked a Brazil side for the way they danced after sticking four goals past South Korea in the previous round.
It's not for everyone, admittedly. But if there is any team that has a free hit at such antics it's Brazil is it not?
Keane's words look like they have only inspired the five-time champions, who have via Vinicius Jr claimed there are more moves and shapes to come...

Croatia fans are certainly looking up for it on the beaches of Doha
At least I think it is Doha, looks a bit cloudy for me, but then rain is forecast in the desert this weekend.
The temperature still won't drop below 20 degrees Celsius during the day though and that makes a trip to the beach much more enjoyable than in freezing Britain right now.
11:04
Here is how the World Cup bracket looks heading into the quarter-finals
We may be missing Spain and Germany but that's a pretty strong last-eight line-up isn't it?
Croatia and Brazil will be the first of our quarter-finals today and the winner of that will face either Argentina or Holland.
I think we all want to see Brazil vs Argentina in a World Cup - but whatever way you dice this up we have an excellent semi-final in the pot on this side of the draw.
11:00
The World Cup is back up and running again!
And what a torturous couple of days that was without a football match to keep us company!
Patience pays off though, as we return with the first of our quarter-finals where Croatia and Brazil clash as I welcome you to all the action as it happens.
Neymar will be out to keep Brazil's attack firing in their World Cup quarter-final against Croatia
