Former President Donald Trump said he’s uninterested in receiving security briefings this election season so he won’t be accused of leaking classified information.
The Republican presidential nominee told the Daily Mail this week that he is refusing to sit down with security agencies during his campaign’s home stretch because he fears President Joe Biden’s team would accuse him of leaking confidential information.
It’s a break from the norm for a presidential hopeful. Non-incumbent nominees of major parties often begin receiving security briefings in late August and receive them sporadically until Election Day.
