Emmerdale fans 'work out' who uncovers John Sugden's crimes - and it's not Aaron

3 weeks ago 226

Emmerdale fans reckon they've sussed out who will unmask John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) and his lethal antics, and it's not his partner, Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller).

John made a dramatic entrance into the Dales last year, purporting to be the long-lost son of Emmerdale stalwart Jackson Sugden (Clive Hornby). He introduced himself to his half-sister Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins), revealing he was living out of his van.

Despite a shaky beginning, John embarked on a romance with Aaron and disclosed his military background. However, viewers quickly grew suspicious of John's darker side after he disposed of Anthony Fox's (Nicholas Day) corpse earlier this year.

On Thursday (April 10), after months of conjecture, Emmerdale finally confirmed that John is indeed a dangerous man, responsible for the death of Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter).

It appears John has been intentionally endangering people in order to swoop in as their saviour, but his scheme goes disastrously wrong.

Emmerdale aired an explosive twist involving John Sugden on Thursday night with the fate of Nate Robinson finally revealed

John Sugden killed Nate Robinson in shocking Emmerdale scenes

Following last year's barn fire at Moira Dingle's (Natalie J Robb) farm, John came to Nate's rescue. But then he injected Nate in the neck with medication, causing him to cry out in agony, reports Leeds Live.

Moments later, John was readying another dose of medication to save Nate's life, but it was too late - Nate had already passed away.

In an attempt to cover up his crime, John was seen moving Nate's lifeless body in his van to a bridge in the village. In chilling scenes, viewers watched as Nate's wrapped-up body was discarded into the lake by John.

John's sinister actions have been riddled with a concerning pattern - he's been putting people in harm's way only to play the hero and save them. Jacob Gallagher's life was endangered when John intentionally triggered a life-threatening allergic reaction, only to rescue him afterwards.

Chas Dingle was hospitalised after a drug overdose orchestrated by John Sugden

The barn fire posed a significant threat to Ruby and Moira's lives, but John, who didn't start the blaze, did delay helping them after Moira fired a gun. He did ultimately save them, though.

John's criminal behaviour extends further, having drugged Chas, vandalised her pub by throwing a brick through the window, and harassed both Chas and Liam while framing Ella.

However, his heroic actions did kick in when Aaron's life was on the line after being brutally attacked at an underground fight and suffering severe injuries. John jumped into action and saved Aaron, later revealing that one of his lungs had collapsed.

In recent scenes, John has been visiting a mysterious patient receiving treatment in a hospital. Is this another case of John causing harm?

So far, John's disturbing pattern of hurting people before saving them has flown under the radar, but viewers are now convinced that Liam will be the one to put John as the killer.

Emmerdale fans think Liam will rumble John's dark antics

Some sharp-eyed viewers recall Liam, a local GP, mentioning his passion for murder mysteries, which they believe will lead him to piece together John's crimes. It's also worth noting that Liam employs John at the surgery.

One fan took to Facebook, speculating: "Liam is definitely having suspicions about John and him conveniently being on the scene of every "incident"...Remember Liam is a great fan of Murder Mystery weekends and crime fiction..his little grey cells will be working overtime!".

Another individual weighed in with their own observation, noting: "Yeah he looked suspicious but covered it well", and a third person followed up with insight: "He ain't daft I think he has already clicked on John."

A fan entered the exchange with a bit of realisation: "Oh yes, I forgot about his murder mystery things. He'll suss it out. You can see his mind working now, but we all know he's going to put himself in danger because of it,".

Jumping on the bandwagon, someone else remarked: "Yes, so true he does like his Murder Mysteries, his little cogwheels will be whirring into action!".

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV and ITVX
