Facebook, Messenger and Instagram are down

IDAHO FALLS — Meta’s Facebook, Messenger and Instagram appear to be down worldwide, leaving users unable to access the social media platforms.

The issues appeared around 8:15 a.m. and are impacting both social media sites’ apps and website.

DownDetector, which monitors online outages, shows more than 350,000 people are having problems with Facebook as of 8:45 a.m. Over 50,000 reported issues with Instagram and nearly 9,000 were experiencing problems with Messenger.
