Theft happened at a home that was under construction in the 6900 block of SW 149th Lane Road
MARION COUNTY, Fla. – Deputies are looking for the man they say stole a surveillance camera set up to prevent theft at a construction site, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
According to a news release, the unidentified man went to a home that was under construction in the 6900 block of SW 149th Lane Road and stole the security camera worth around $355.
The construction company told deputies they purchased the camera to provide surveillance of the property. While reviewing the footage, they discovered the man stealing the camera.

“It’s very unfortunate that he stole the camera, but it certainly did its job,” the release read in part.
Deputies did not say what day the theft happened.
