IDAHO FALLS — The Idaho Transportation Department has closed two local highways due to severe winter weather conditions.

At around 12:30 p.m. Friday, ITD closed Idaho Highway 32 from Ashton to Tetonia and Idaho Highway 47 from Ashton to Warm River. Authorities report significant blowing and drifting snow with very low visibility on both roads.

It’s unclear when these roads will reopen.

According to the National Weather Service, that section of eastern Idaho — near Fremont and Teton counties — is under a winter weather advisory until 11 p.m. Friday. Two to four inches of snow is expected, with winds gust as high as 55 mph.
