I'm A Celebrity fans 'hope they listen to us' after 'random' Maura Higgins and GK Barry scenes

Some fans of I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here have criticised the show's annual Coming Out episode, expressing disappointment and pointing out 'random' scenes with with podcaster GK Barry and Love Islander Maura Higgins.

The ITV reality show's special is broadcast after each series concludes, offering viewers a peek behind the scenes and capturing the celebrities as they exit the jungle to be greeted by loved ones in the luxury of a five-star hotel.

This year's I'm A Celebrity Coming Out aired on Friday (December 13), following Danny Jones from McFly being named King of the Jungle just five days prior. Yet, the latest edition didn't quite hit the mark for some viewers who quickly voiced their discontent online.

Fans weren't impressed with this year's Coming Out show

Critics took to social media to lament that the show seemed hastily assembled and lacked the finesse of past years, despite airing nearly a week after the finale, reports the Express.

One viewer commented: "After such an excellent series a very badly put together and rushed coming out was."

Another stated: "The coming out show is so rushed now. Used to get so much footage, and even clips of them actually arriving into the UK. I hope they listen to us for next year. Still a brill show, and I still loved it!"

There were also suggestions that despite Ant and Dec's hosting and recap of highlights, there was an excess of repeated footage already familiar to the audience.

Viewers were taken aback, considering the warmth and camaraderie presented in I'm A Celeb Unpacked where relatives spoke of tight bonds formed while their celebrities were braving the jungle conditions.

One individual lamented: "The Coming Out show used to be so much better when we saw the reactions of the family and friends waiting when each celeb got voted out."

Although there was some original content in the episode, it was minimal. This included scenes of Love Island's Maura Higgins skydiving, an activity she missed initially due to her later arrival on the show.

Radio presenters Dean McCullough and Melvin Odoom were seen sipping on beverages as they reminisced over their jungle exploits. Dean expressed frustration over a nickname he'd acquired from shirking camp chores.

GK Barry and other ex-campmates

The ex-campmates gathered for an unimpressive party

Additionally, Podcaster GK Barry had a stab at surfing, yet audiences branded these segments 'random'. One viewer expressed their disappointment candidly: "That #ImACeleb coming out show was c***! We'd already seen most of that, then it was about a minute of them in their hotel and that's it. (Apart from the random longer bit of GK surfing?) The party looked rubbish too. What a shame when this series was decent."

The let down continued with commentary on the subdued after party, which TV hosts Ant and Dec did not attend. Another viewer shared: "The party looked so dead and Ant and Dec didn't even go to the camp. And there was so much random features like GK Barry going surfing. This wasn't a great Coming Out show."

I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here returns next year, catch up on series 24 on ITVX.
