In pictures: Metcollect Boxing Day Races at Down Royal Racecourse

The crowds came out in style on Boxing Day as Down Royal held its final event of the racing calendar,

The ladies upped the fashion stakes on a mild Thursday afternoon with hundreds turning out in style.

It was a welcome return for the annual favourite which is a hugely popular tradition each Christmas.

Anticipation was certainly high amongst the racegoers as the gates opened at 10.30am with the first race kicking off at 11.40am and the last at 3.08pm.
