A former I'm A Celeb champion has expressed her frustration at the trials faced by this year's contestants. On Thursday's episode of Good Morning Britain, presenters Kate Garraway and Richard Madeley chatted with Myleene Klass about the hit ITV series.
Myleene, who claimed second place in 2006, triumphed last year in the first-ever all-stars series, which brought back former campmates to compete once again. The 46-year-old clinched victory against Jordan Banjo in a nail-biting final, enduring a particularly nasty Bushtucker Trial.
Discussing the current series, Richard Madeley enquired if she had been following the show and whether she thought the trials were less challenging than those she faced. Myleene humorously replied: "Are you joking? I had to eat 60 mouse tails and they gave the Revered one! There was this big deal about it, those mice tails, they took my brace out. I'm still paying the dentistry bills on them."
Her witty comeback prompted laughter from both Richard and Kate as she continued to reflect on the reality show. Myleene further commented: "So yeah, I mean they did a sterling job there's no doubt about it."
This season featured Reverend Richard Coles bravely tackling several eating challenges, including drinking blended fermented herring a concoction Ant McPartlin described as the "worst thing" he'd ever smelt during his two-decade tenure on the show, reports the Express.
Richard made it through to the grand finale on the hit show alongside other celebs including Coleen Rooney and Danny Jones, securing a respectable third place, just shy of jungle royalty.
Reflecting on his experience, Richard said: "It's not what you think it's going to be! I thought there would be luxury spa's just off camera and we'd all be beautifully pampered and looked after, not the case! It was much harder than I thought it would be, but that was great."
"The lows were much lower, the highs were much higher, but it was the lows that made the highs; the best thing was everybody else. We had such a good time."
It was McFly's Danny Jones who ultimately received the coveted title King of the Jungle with Coleen as the second in command, following a heartfelt crowning by previous winner Sam Thompson.
On his victory, an emotional 38-year-old Danny commented: "Thank you from the bottom of my heart, I gave my all in there, gave myself, and it's a lovely feeling to be liked."
Vote tallies showed Danny with a significant lead at 55.2% compared to Coleen's 44.8%, though the warmth was evident as she enveloped him in a celebratory hug.
