Danny Jones has disclosed that he disregarded the medical advice from I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here's team after his jungle victory, which left him feeling very ill.

The McFly frontman was declared the king of the jungle last Sunday (December 8) after reaching the final three alongside TV star Coleen Rooney, who came second, and Reverend Richard Coles, who finished third.

Securing the win Down Under marked Danny's third triumph this year, following his victory on the latest series of The Masked Singer and his protege on ITV's The Voice, Ava, whom he mentored with his McFly bandmate Tom Fletcher, clinching the show in October.

The 38-year-old has since branded it as a "crazy year", confessing that he had intended to take a six-month break to relocate ahead of his tour next year but couldn't resist the offer to join I'm A Celeb. His wife Georgia handled the move while he was in Australia.

After the win, Danny posted his first official message on social media as he continues to take a break from his phone following his stint without life's luxuries for over three weeks, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Alongside a snap of himself with his I'm A Celeb 2024 campmates following his victory, Danny shared on Instagram: "A message from Danny... This was one of the hardest and most amazing things I have ever done in my life. I would have never been able to have the incredible experience I've had, without these people. The campmates made it for me."

"A huge congratulations to my fellow finalists Col and Revvo," he said before adding: "I'll be back on my phone and socials very soon Love you all."

Stars quickly responded with their congrats as Oti Mabuse wrote: "Jungle Family."

Maura Higgins exclaimed: "We love you," as fellow campmate Melvin Odoom added: "Camp Famalam!"

Danny has now offered fans a glimpse into his life after the jungle, revealing he disregarded medical advice regarding his diet post-show. Initially, he posted an image basking in the sunshine, captioning it: "Very happy king! Still can't believe that you guys all voted for me. Feels surreal. It's a proper top of the world feeling. Can't wait to see you all in the UK soon."

He went on to share several videos, confessing: "Thought you'd might like to know something... When I came out the jungle, I had two breakfasts. I went a bit mad. i had a banana bread sandwich with fruit, cream and maple syrup, it was amazing, and I also ordered a croissant with eggs, halloumi, avocado - epic! I had a right nice cuppa tea with that, then I had a vanilla milkshake.

"But here's the thing, the doc said to me, 'Go slow and small' and I didn't. That night I was really ill, like really ill. Up all night. So the next morning I went a bit more gentle with some fruit. Anyway, this morning, I feel better..."

He then went on to detail his current diet and his strong cravings for sweets and cups of tea.

Danny also remarked: "All in all, I think I'm through the other side. My stomach has shrunk massively but I feel like I'm eating better. Last night I had a bit of pasta, I didn't eat it all, I shared it with my mum. I can't eat a full bowl of pasta yet. I'm quite enjoying that to be honest with you because I used to eat too much anyway but it's just the milkshakes and the crisps and the chocolate. It's just going down so well. So I'll let you know how today goes."
