James Earl Jones, one of the greatest actors of his generation, whose uniquely resonant and authoritative bass-baritone voice served as the cornerstone of his undeniable screen presence, died on Monday morning in New York. He was 93.
Jones’ representatives at Independent Artist Group confirmed his death, at his home at Dutchess County, to Deadline. A cause was not immediately shared.
